What is the Wheelie Bin Storage enclosure, exactly?

A flat-packed aluminium slat enclosure with no lid, designed to screen wheelie bins, pool equipment or an air conditioning unit from view. It's built from 65mm slats, cut to your ordered width, depth and height, and arrives with a door and hardware included.

Who is the no-lid Wheelie Bin enclosure suited to?

It suits homeowners screening bins, pool equipment or an AC unit who don't need the contents kept dry, since the page markets it for exactly those three uses and there's no lid. Intended for DIY and professional installations alike,  the user will need to be proficient with a cordless screw driver.

What size bin enclosure do I need?

Use the guide below to choose an enclosure for one, two or three wheelie bins positioned side by side. These suggested sizes are based on 240L Australian wheelie bins and also provide room for smaller 120L and 140L bins.

All measurements are in millimetres. Width and depth are measured to the outside edges of the enclosure posts. Height is measured from the ground to the top of the enclosure.

Check your bins before ordering

This guide uses a 240L bin measuring approximately 585mm wide × 730mm deep × 1060mm high, with its lid closed. Bin dimensions vary between manufacturers and councils, so measure your actual bins, including handles, wheels and lids.

For approximate internal space, deduct 55mm from the external width and 60mm from the external depth of a freestanding enclosure. Allow an additional 25mm beyond each side of the posts for projecting base plates.

Ensure the selected door arrangement provides enough clear space to wheel each bin in and out. As this enclosure has no lid, leave sufficient space above and behind the bins for their own lids to open.

What's included with the no-lid enclosure, and what will I need separately?

Your aluminium bin enclosure is supplied as a flat-pack kit, with components to suit your selected size and configuration:

• 65 × 16.5mm aluminium slats, cut to the required lengths.

• 50 × 50mm aluminium posts with base plates, including screws to attach the plates to the posts.

• Door slats and side frames, including frame end caps.

• Two TruClose hinges per door, plus door stops and fixing screws.

• Slat locking clips, starter blocks and spacing blocks, where required for your selected slat spacing.

• Enclosure framing, channels and assembly screws applicable to your configuration.

• Rear panel components for closed-back configurations, or rear braces for open-back configurations.

Supplied in your selected colour or finish. Assembly is required, with no welding needed.

What’s not included?

Ground anchors or other fixings for securing the base plates to your installation surface are not supplied. Choose fixings suitable for your surface.

This listing is for an enclosure without a lid. Lid components, gas struts and wheelie bins are not included.

When is this the wrong enclosure to order?

It has no lid, so anything stored inside is exposed to rain and sun from above; if the contents need to stay dry, this isn't the right variant (Glass House sells a lidded version for that case). Sizing is limited to the dropdown's 1cm increments in width and depth, no other custom size is offered. Delivery is limited to the listed metro areas, and Sydney orders route through the Eastern Creek Toll depot at extra cost. Either enclosure is not designed to be waterproof,  don’t order this if needing to block sound or need it watertight.
